Intel Poised to Layoff Over 21,000 Workers This Week

Intel Corp. is preparing to eliminate roughly 21,000 positions in the coming weeks, trimming nearly one‑fifth of its global workforce in what would be the company’s largest layoff in more than a decade. Workforce Impact

Intel told regulators its head‑count stood at 124,800 at the end of 2023. Intel’s earlier job cuts and dividend suspension failed to halt sliding margins; revenue growth from AI accelerators has not met internal forecasts. The stock has fallen roughly 40 percent from year‑ago levels despite a brief rally on rumors of deeper cost reductions.
