Samsung Keyboard Bug Replaces Images with Asterisks – Here’s the Quick Fix

Date:

A peculiar bug in Samsung’s keyboard is causing images to disappear, replaced by asterisks, but there’s a simple workaround.

The issue seems to occur when the keyboard’s spellchecker flags a grammar error with a green underline. Instead of just correcting the text, it inexplicably transforms the accompanying image into an asterisk. Initially mistaken for a Reddit glitch, users discovered the Samsung Keyboard was the culprit after testing with Google’s Gboard. A temporary fix involves typing the comment first, ensuring perfect grammar, and then attaching the image.

The problem isn’t confined to Reddit; users have reported similar experiences on Microsoft Teams, further implicating the Samsung Keyboard. Reddit users speculated that the Grammarly integration within the Samsung Keyboard might be the unexpected troublemaker. Disabling the “English” text correction under the Samsung Keyboard settings appears to resolve the issue for those affected.

Hopefully, Samsung or Grammarly will address this asterisk-generating issue in a future update, allowing users to share their images without them turning into lone stars.
