BigPond Users Locked Out as Telstra Works to Resolve Email Access Issues

Date:

Telstra Australia is currently investigating a problem that has left some users unable to access their BigPond email accounts. The issue, which mainly impacts the web-based email platform, has been acknowledged by the company. Telstra says its teams are working to resolve the disruption as quickly as possible.

According to user reports, the problem has been ongoing for at least two hours. Affected users say they are unable to log in, with the login page simply refreshing after entering their credentials without granting access. Some users initially found that using email clients like Outlook served as a temporary workaround, but even that method has now become unreliable, with many being asked repeatedly for their usernames and passwords despite entering the correct information.

Telstra confirmed the issue in an official statement on X, explaining that a number of customers are experiencing difficulties accessing their BigPond or Telstra Mail accounts via the web. The company assured users that its technical team is actively working to resolve the situation and restore normal service as soon as possible.

In a follow-up post, Telstra noted that while some customers were initially able to access their email through apps like Outlook, this workaround is no longer consistently effective. The company promised to provide updates as soon as more information becomes available.

While no estimated time for a full fix has been provided yet, expectations are that the service will be restored shortly. Further updates will be shared once there is more clarity on the situation.
