Instagram Loading Screen Bug Annoying Android Users—Here’s the Easiest Fix

Date:

Some Instagram users on Android are reporting a frustrating issue where the app gets stuck on the splash screen and refuses to load beyond the startup logo. Over the past day, several users have posted about the glitch on platforms like Reddit and X, trying to find a solution.

Tests on multiple devices, including a Pixel 8, Pixel 7a, and an Infinix GT 20 Pro, all running the latest version of Instagram, showed no issues—indicating that the problem is affecting only certain Android configurations.

If you’re facing this issue, a simple fix that’s been working for many is clearing the app data. It’s important to note that clearing data is different from just clearing the cache. Doing this will log you out of your account and reset Instagram to its default state. You’ll lose any unsaved drafts or locally stored data, so make sure to back up anything important before proceeding.

To try the fix, open your phone’s Settings app, go to Apps or App Management, and find Instagram. Tap on it, then go to Storage or Storage & Cache. From there, tap “Clear Data” and confirm. Once done, reopen Instagram and log in again. This has resolved the loading issue for a number of users.

While some users suggest restarting the phone as a first step, most reports indicate that clearing cache or rebooting alone doesn’t solve the problem. Clearing data seems to be the most effective workaround.

So far, Meta hasn’t released an official fix or comment on the issue. Based on user feedback, it could be a server-side error or a buggy update affecting only a portion of Android users. Until a proper patch is issued, clearing the app data appears to be the best solution to get Instagram working again.
