Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 Fixes Motion Blur with Lightning-Fast Camera Upgrade

Date:

Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7 finally tackles a longstanding issue in Samsung cameras: motion blur in photos of moving subjects. The device features a 200 MP main sensor paired with shutter speeds up to seven times faster than the Galaxy Z Fold 6, a change designed to dramatically improve sharpness in action shots. Early tests suggest significant reductions in blurred images, especially in bright daylight situations.

The improved shutter performance stems from the ProVisual Engine, Samsung’s AI-powered image signal processor introduced in 2024. This system enhances real-time frame analysis to reduce blur and noise while optimizing exposure and color accuracy. The engine also supports 10-bit HDR video and delivers richer, more natural-looking footage in varying lighting conditions.

Independent reviews, including one by ArsTechnica, have highlighted real-world examples—such as clear captures of running greyhounds—demonstrating the Fold 7’s enhanced ability to freeze motion. However, note that these were shot under favorable lighting, and low-light performance remains to be fully evaluated.

Reddit user reports confirm the improvements aren’t just theoretical. Users pointed out that earlier Samsung models introduced optimization delays that caused shutter lag and blur, whereas the Fold 7 appears to bypass this delay, delivering almost instantaneous capture—particularly helpful in scenarios with fast-moving subjects.

For those of you who already got your new folds. Did the shutter lag and photo blur of moving objects improved over fold 6 or it's still the same?

Beyond motion blur, the Fold 7’s camera system delivers other upgrades: the primary sensor captures up to 44% more brightness and four times the detail compared to its predecessor. Meanwhile, the 10 MP selfie camera now captures wider group shots—up 25% more of the scene—helping reduce framing issues in crowded settings.

These enhancements come just weeks after the device’s late-July 2025 launch, which Samsung followed with strong early preorder numbers. The camera improvements appear to be one of the key selling points driving consumer interest.

For users experiencing motion blur on prior Samsung flagships, this update may feel like overdue relief.
